Social media marketing is quickly becoming the most popular way to connect with clients.
It helps you build a brand, attract new customers, and grow your business.
If you struggle to generate leads on social media, here are a few tips to help you make it happen.
1. Optimize your profile.
Be sure you have a compelling bio that highlights the most significant benefit of working with you. How do you serve your audience, and why should they choose you over the competition?
Do you help your clients solve a problem, achieve a goal or fulfill a need? Keep the focus on your reader and how your skillsets, experience, and education help you serve your clients.
Include a call-to-action – do you have free content or an interesting blog post on your website that provides value but invites readers to take the next step?
2. Create a customer journey.
Think baby steps and move slowly – you want to nurture your audience, let them get to know you, and prove yourself as a valuable resource over time. How will you capture attention, pique interest, build trust and ask for the sale?
Aspects you want to achieve:
Awareness – How will you attract new people to your brand? (valuable content, promotions, giveaways, engaging with other pages)
Value – How are you standing out and providing value to your audience?
Connection – How are you connecting with your audience on a more personal level? (this doesn’t have to be sharing intimate details of your life – think shared interests, empathize with their problems or have a bit of fun in the form of shared jokes or memes)
Action – What is the next step in your funnel? (Is it download an opt-in and get on your email list, join a Facebook group or visit a website or landing page?) Ask for small steps
3. Craft valuable content
Everyone is competing for attention online, and those attention spans are shorter than ever! Craft the best content you can, with click-worthy images and helpful information. The more valuable your content, the more your audience will share, comment, and engage with your work.
4.
Create sales-worthy landing pages.
If you get your audience to click on your landing page, be sure not to disappoint! Keep it relevant and straightforward. If you promised a specific product or information when they click on the link, be sure to provide it.
5. Be social and engaged.
This is especially important as you are building up followers and creating a community. Dedicate time each day to actively seek out people who need your product or service and get your name in front of them.
Join groups and participate, post insightful and helpful comments, and answer people's questions about your field
6. Be consistent and patient.
It won’t happen overnight – building a community around your brand takes time. Have patience and keep at it!
7. Don’t be afraid to try something new.
It can be tricky to stand out on social media because there’s just so much content out there. Experiment to find the things that work for you and your audience. Try different topics, various types of content, and post on varying days or times to test what works the best for you.
